Good for those who want to explore a Dutch town at a slow pace, like history and nature, not for those seeking city life or shopping. Best time to visit is May to September, when the weather is nice. Budget around 1000-1500 CNY per person. City transport is easy, crossing districts takes about 10 minutes by car. Must-visit: Rijksmuseum van Oudheden and Nederlands Openluchtmuseum. Skip the city center of Alphen aan de Rijn, too commercialized. Avoid eating at restaurants near attractions, they’re overpriced and not great.
