Burkina Faso is located in West Africa, bordered by Niger to the east, Togo and Ghana to the south, and Ivory Coast to the west. The country covers an area of approximately 272,967 square kilometers, characterized by plains and hills, with a tropical savanna climate featuring distinct wet and dry seasons. Burkina Faso's history dates back to ancient times, being the cradle of several kingdoms, such as the ancient kingdom of Ghat. In 1960, the country gained independence from France and has experienced multiple coups and political upheavals, currently functioning as a semi-presidential republic. Culturally, Burkina Faso boasts a rich tapestry of ethnic traditions, with major ethnic groups including the Mossi, Fula, and Lobi.
